There are many types of heart arrhythmia such as Premature Ventricular Contractions, this is the most common arrhythmia.  Stress, large amount of ingestion of caffeine, Cigarettes (nicotine), and at times an excessive amount of exercises.  PVCs may also be caused by electrolyte imbalances or coronary heart disease.  In most cases the PVCs are harmless, but never the less one should seek a physician to rule out any concerns.  The ACLS class covers lots of information about how to treat and when to intervene when these arrhythmia are leading to death.

The other types of arrhythmia are Atrial fibrillation, Atrial flutter, Paroxysmal supra-ventricular tachycardia, palpitations, Ventricular tachycardia, Ventricular fibrillation, and Heart block.  A person should see a cardiologist if ever diagnosed with any of these arrhythmia for treatment.  There are many causes for these arrhythmia may include heart disease, low potassium, magnesium, heart attack, or heart surgery.  Irregular heart beats can occur in a healthy person too.
ACLS class will provide valuable information for the medical professionals that will save lives of patients.  The class will provide certification that is good for 2 years.

There are some symptoms that may occur when a person is experiencing some of the heart arrhythmia and at times a person may not have any symptoms.  Therefore it is extremely important to keep regular check ups with your primary care physician.  Some of the symptoms may be palpitations (fluttering feeling in the chest), a pounding sensation, dizziness, shortness of breath, chest pain, extreme weakness, or fainting.  Anyone with any of these symptoms are encourage to seek the treatment of a physician.  It is recommended to call 911 as the paramedics have specialized training that they learned from taking an ACLS class that certified them in advanced life saving treatments that are approved by the American Heart Association.

In order to be diagnosed with the heart arrhythmia you must first be seen or evaluated by a doctor.  There are several tests that will help aid in the diagnosis that include an EKG, Holder monitor that is worn for 24 hours, Stress Test, Electrocardiogram that takes an ultrasound of the heart, Cardiac Categorization where the heart is visualized by using dye that is injected in the heart, etc.  Some of these arrhythmia are treated with medications, surgery and some may not need treatment.  It mainly depends on the type of heart arrhythmia that you may have.  Just remember if you are experiencing any type of chest discomfort always call for 911.  If you are traveling in a car, you could go unconscious and could die before arriving to the emergency room where the doctors, nurses or paramedics have taken an ACLS class that has given them the knowledge to provide the appropriate treatment for adults that are having a life threatening heart arrhythmia.

The American Heart Association is geared to help healthcare professionals to be successful and that management of ventricular fibrillation. Amiodarone and vasopressin are the recommended drugs of choice for the ventricular fibrillation ACLS certification algorithm.
